Every animal deserves a helping hand
We are very excited to announce that we are officially introducing "Lazzi's Legacy".
This will be a (currently tiny) home rescue dedicated to Rescuing, Rehabilitating & Rehoming Budgerigars.
If other bird species require assistance, we may be of help. But our main focus is Budgies.
In memory of my special blue budgie boy Lasagna, we will be working towards becoming a not-for-profit, expanding our set up and aiming to help budgies across South East Victoria (Australia) in the next few years.
Part of our bird boarding will help assist us in any vet bills, housing and rescue costs.
Our Focus
-
Our focus is on birds that may need rehabilitation prior to rehoming.
-
We aim to help birds that may be in a difficult situation, especially those requiring urgent medical care.
-
Our main focus is budgies, but we will help other small bird species.
-
We will provide sanctuary for elderly birds who need a safe space to live out their lives, and provide palliative care to those needed.
-
When we have space, we also assist in transport and fostering for other rescues in Victoria. Every animal deserves a helping hand, and we hope we can take some of the stress from other rescues in Victoria by providing another safe space for little birds.
In memory of Lasagna, my blue boy
Lasagna (Lazzi, Lala) was a Sky Blue Budgie, he was my first bird and will forever be the most special bird to me.
Around 5 months of age, Lazzi fell and injured his left wing, he was unable to fly straight since then. We provided special ladders, perches and climbing equipment for him. He was able to maneuver the entire bird room using these.
In his memory, I want to continue to grow my knowledge and help birds that may need just a little extra TLC. Alongside Lazzi, we also want to remember Peachfuzz the one legged canary who taught us courage, and resilience.
